Youth Disposition Program

The Youth Restorative Justice Disposition Program (YRJDP) was designed and is managed by Koinonia Leadership Academy, LLC (KLA). RJCA administers the program. The YRJDP focuses on youth ages 14-18 who are on supervised probation in Hennepin County Juvenile Court.

Yes, one of the key elements of the YRJDP is to include youth and their support system from the beginning through the end of our restorative process. This inclusive approach allows for youth and families to have a greater level of ownership and autonomy throughout the process, with a particular emphasis on youth and community voice during opportunities for decision-making.

In addition to program and RJCA staff, YRJDP Circles are supported by contracted community Circle Keepers, who support facilitation and mentorship for youth and families in our neighborhoods. Hennepin County Probation Officers also participates in the Circle and restorative process, providing additional support and connection to Hennepin County resources.

The YRJDP is a collaborative restorative opportunity managed and delivered by Koinonia Leadership Academy, LLC (KLA) and Restorative Justice Community Action in partnership with Hennepin County, the University of Minnesota Healthy Youth Development Prevention Research Center, and Legal Rights Center, initially funded by the International Association of Trial Lawyers.
