Over the years, Restorative Justice has fulfilled its mission by establishing a diverse range of local partnerships. This includes the criminal legal system of the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, and Ramsey County, to local organizations, businesses, as well as federally funded community spaces such as libraries, parks, and more. Through these innovative partnerships, the community has the ability to access court referrals and influence policymaking on issues that affect the criminal legal system’s capacity to keep our streets safe.
RJCA is a member organization of the National Association for Community Mediation (NAFCM), a membership association of peacemakers who employ the practices and values of community mediation. NAFCM helps these peacemakers to create safe spaces for the transformation of conflict to opportunities for engagement, resolution, and partnership through the work and will of the participants and those impacted. As a member of NAFCM, RJCA leads the Minnesota effort of the TRUST Network of the Mediators Beyond Borders International to work collaboratively with community partners to mitigate violence, solve problems, and promote positive peace. The TRUST Network was established in October of 2020.
