In collaboration with Koinonia Leadership Academy, LLC (KLA) and our partnered Circle Keepers, RJCA provides youth a restorative process to address incidents that require additional time and support. These restorative processes seek to identify, repair, and prevent harm through meaningful relationship and accountability. CYRCLE is a voluntary process for youth and person(s) harmed.
What is Centering Youth in Restorative Community Leadership & Engagement (CYRCLE)?
– CYRCLE for disposition focuses on youth ages 14-18 who are supervised probation in Hennepin County Youth Court.
– CYRCLE for diversion focuses on youth referred through Hennepin or Ramsey County to address incidents requiring additional time and support.
Yes, one of the key elements of the CYRCLE is to include youth and their support system throughout our restorative process. This inclusive approach allows youth and families to have a greater level of agency, with a particular emphasis on youth and community voice during opportunities for decision-making.
Does the CYRCLE include families and support systems for the youth?
Who else is involved?
– In addition to KLA and RJCA, CYRCLE processes are supported by community Circle Keepers, who provide facilitation and mentorship for youth and families.
– For youth placed on Hennepin County supervised probation, Probation Officers also participate in the restorative process, providing additional support and connection to Hennepin County resources.
CYRCLE was designed and is managed by Koinonia Leadership Academy, LLC(KLA) and is implemented in partnership with RJCA as a collaborative restorative opportunity for youth.
