Get Involved!
With community participation a cornerstone of Restorative Justice Community Action, staff conduct outreach to involve neighborhood stakeholders in a number of roles: as conference participants (5 per conference on average), conference facilitators (15 in the pool at any given time), and neighborhood service supervisors. Volunteers also serve as translators and offender advocates, as well help with office work, special events and community outreach.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Observe: Observe a conference
- Participate: Attend a community conference with your neighbors to address incidents in your area
- Facilitate: Get training to guide community conferences
- Lead: Apply for a board or committee position
- Interpret: Professional translators are paid to interpret.
- Identify service projects in your area so offenders can fill community needs
